Which places make the best family holiday destinations according to the kids? Five-year-old Jed Cole lives in London with his mum, dad and big brothers Ezra (8) and Isaac (18). Jed is very much an urban babe, who enjoys playing football in the park and looking cool on his scooter. As well as being well traveled around London, he’s also been to Nice, Corsica, Antibes and is looking forward to spending Christmas in Nigeria. One day he hopes to visit New Zealand where his Nana is from originally. He tells suitcases&strollers his travel tips for how to make travel with kids fun for the entire family.
What do you like about
travelling?
It feels like you’re flying if you’re in a plane, like you’re a bird. [Flaps wings for emphasis.] It feels nice because you can sleep on a cushion on the plane. It’s interesting because you’re going to another city or another country and you might like it when you get there.
What don't you like
about travelling and why?
What I don’t like about travelling is that you might get ill or sick (when you’re on a plane or in a car) because you’re there for such a long time!
Where has been your favourite
place to go on family holiday?
My favourite place to go to holiday has been to Nigeria because lots of people from my family are there. I would recommend other kids go there because it’s really fun, there’s lots of things to see and different food like jollof rice! It’s very hot and you can go to the beach.
Are there any family holidays
that you've been on that you didn't like?
There’s no holidays that I didn’t like.
What is the best thing you've ever seen or done on family holidays?
I liked going to Camp Bestival in Dorset because you got to stay in a tent for the weekend. It was really fun; I made new friends in the tent next to me. I saw De La Soul rapping on the big stage.
What is the worst thing
you've ever seen or done on family holidays?
I can’t think of anything that bad!
Where is the one place
in the world you haven't been to that you would like to go?
I would like to go to America because there’s so many things that I haven’t seen. Some people in my family are from America. I would also like to go to Disneyland and Disneyworld because there are some of my favourite characters like Mickey!

What do you think you
get out of travelling that you don't get when you stay at home?
You have to sleep on a bed when you’re at home, but you don’t have to sleep on a bed when you’re in an aeroplane. You also get to play with different toys. You might not have people like your auntie and uncle at home, they might be in a different country, so it might be nice to see them.
If you could plan the
perfect family holiday for you, where would it be and what would you do?
I would go to America and buy some WWE tickets. [Mum: Good grief!]
